Description Michael Meeks 2001-08-11 19:44:44 UTC
Several things;

    Some keybinding to delete contacts,
Double click on contact opens it
Page Up / Down shift the calendar by great lumps in either direction
If you enter a contact, then delete the title, if it disappeared it'd
be good.
When you get flicked to the calendar from the Summary 'Appointments'
button - it should highlight the current day - and preferably ( as for the
home button ) put the day somewhere in the middle row of the view. [ I have
a 5 row view though so perhaps there is a hard-coded thing there somewhere
that makes it look ok in 1024x768 ].
Comment 1 Damon Chaplin 2001-08-15 23:54:19 UTC
Michael did mean 'event' when he wrote 'contact', by the way.

Double-clicking mostly works.
The empty summary thing is in another bug report somewhere.
There is also another report about keyboard navigation in EWeekView.

The Summary issue should probably go in the 'My Evolution' component.

That leaves adding a keybinding to delete an event. We have to choose
a key that EText won't be using for this.
Comment 2 Federico Mena Quintero 2001-08-16 17:39:37 UTC
We could use C-Delete and/or C-Backspace, perhaps?
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2001-08-17 20:24:15 UTC
As a result of the UI freeze today, I'm marking all remaining non-1.0 UI bugs to
'future'. Someone reading this should only change the target back to 1.0 under
the following circumstances:
1) The change would not impact documentation. (i.e., 'how to do X' would not
have to be changed in any way.)
2) The change would require trivial work for the programmers involved. Most
likely, only the programmers themselves are able to judge this. So, if you are
not on the evo team, or cannot provide a patch to them for this, you should
probably not make any such changes.
Sorry that this is going to impact so many irritating bugs, but we have to
prioritize our limited resources.

evolution-2.0.2.0.200412060900-0.snap.ximian.10.1:

the keybinding to delete events is strg+d, it works after having
marked the appointment, which seems to be impossible without a mouse.
deleting does not function in list view, because one can not mark a row.

double-clicking of course works, although it's triple-clicking because
you first activate summary text editing.

neither the arrow keys nor page up/page down move the calendar in
month view.

the last one (empty summary) is bug 202945 and part of meta bug 258118.

hmm...would be better if this was several bugs instead of this big one
here... sigh. :-/
Comment 5 André Klapper 2005-02-28 22:52:21 UTC
the third one (neither the arrow keys nor page up/page down move in
month view) is bug 257649.
because it's impossible to mark an appointment without a mouse i'll
add the keyword keynav.

Apologies for any spam... cc'ing usability-maint on all Evolution usability
bugs. Filter on EVO-USABILITY-SPAM to ignore.
Comment 7 Chakravarthi 2005-12-20 06:44:47 UTC
To summarize the issues mentioned here:
1) Page up and Page Down in Month view shift the view
   way too much than expected.
2) And they work only after selecting any calendar item
   in the view.
3) Current day should be in the middle of the view

With an exception of point 3, these happen on evo 2.4.
will look into 1 & 2 and respond asap.
Comment 8 Calum Benson 2006-04-26 17:06:53 UTC
Apologies for spam... ensuring Sun a11y folks are cc'ed on all current accessibility bugs.
Comment 9 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-11 00:29:01 UTC
Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 10 André Klapper 2013-07-24 19:41:45 UTC
1) is not an issue anymore and 2) does not happen in 3.8 either. See also bug 311938.
3) Current day is on top of the view, because I don't care that much about the past, but more likely about the future.

Closing.
