Description Miles Lane 2001-05-18 06:02:41 UTC
Currently, a user can right-mouseclick on a day's appointment pane,
select "New Appointment" and then simply change the appointment
classification from Private to Public and then save the appointment.
This is clearly a useless appointment record, since there is no Subject
that allows the nature of the appointment to be viewed in the day view.

I think that the OK and Apply buttons should be disabled until some
Subject text is entered.
Comment 1 Miles Lane 2001-05-18 06:06:03 UTC
Sorry, the description should refer to Summary not Subject.
Comment 2 Janne 2001-08-02 15:31:39 UTC
Maybe, if the user writes into the description field, but leaves the
summary blank, the first sentence should be copied to summary when
OK:ing the appointment (I do this all the time and end up wuth empty
summaries...)
Comment 3 Miles Lane 2001-08-02 17:14:23 UTC
Janne, this seems like a good tweak to the feature request.
One way or another, empty summaries shouldn't happen.
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2001-08-17 20:24:33 UTC
As a result of the UI freeze today, I'm marking all remaining non-1.0 UI bugs to
'future'. Someone reading this should only change the target back to 1.0 under
the following circumstances:
1) The change would not impact documentation. (i.e., 'how to do X' would not
have to be changed in any way.)
2) The change would require trivial work for the programmers involved. Most
likely, only the programmers themselves are able to judge this. So, if you are
not on the evo team, or cannot provide a patch to them for this, you should
probably not make any such changes.
Sorry that this is going to impact so many irritating bugs, but we have to
prioritize our limited resources.

still existing in evolution-1.4.6.0.200403080631-0.snap.ximian.8.1,
gnome2.4, suse9.0.
Comment 6 Gerardo Marin 2004-03-13 02:58:01 UTC
Still valid in 1.5.5
Comment 7 André Klapper 2004-06-17 19:33:34 UTC
still in evolution1.5-1.5.8.0.200405281008-0.snap.ximian.8.1 - if i
just enter a new one by using the new-button without entering
anything, i can save it, but it just disappears without any warning
(this is bug 237844) and no appointment gets created!
