GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 171801
Balance Sheet out of Balance
Last modified: 2018-06-29 20:51:01 UTC
Please describe the problem: When a partial stock position is sold, the Balance Sheet reports the Unrealized Gains (Losses) number incorrectly. The Balance Sheet is then out of balance. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enter the purchase of 500 shares of random stock. 2. Sell off 200 shares of that stock, recognizing a small profit. 3. Display the Balance Sheet Actual results: 1. You will see that the Unrealized Gains (Losses) is incorrectly calculated. 2. You will see the Balance Sheet is out of balance. Expected results: 1. I would expect the Unrealized Gains (Losses) to reflect the unrealized gain on the remaining (ie. unsold) shares. 2. I would expect the Balance Sheet to remain balanced at all times. Does this happen every time? Yes. It is easily reproduced Other information: If you would like me to mail you a sample database that demostates this problem, just e-mail me and I will reply with it.
Created attachment 39306 [details] It is a gnucash data file that illustrates the problem It seems I really can include the attachment. Far out!
