Description jrs 2005-02-01 13:29:02 UTC
Here is my request.
The run dialog takes sooo long to complete on my system. Fast computer, slow
harddrive. I also know all the programs I run. I wish it did try to do
autocomplete. I wish that there was an option to turn off autocomplete, or at
least store it in ram. (i have looked through gconf-editor, unable to find anything)
It is a something I avoid showing my girlfriend on her laptop, because it takes
so long. I mean how long does it take to type "firefox" after you have been
using linux for a long time!! yet you have to wait for it to check all programs.....

that being said gnome I appreciate all the work the developers do!!!!

thanks

The performance of this option should be better in 2.10 due to bug 133243 being
fixed. I'm duping this to 152025 -- that bug is for implementing a gconf option
to disable the autocompletion.
