GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 152025
Option to disable auto-completion and "known applications" list in "Run Application" dialog
Last modified: 2005-03-28 09:14:41 UTC
I would find an option to to disable auto-completion and the "known applications" list in "Run Application" dialog very useful, as I dislike this feature. Thanks.
See /apps/panel/profiles/default/general/enable_program_list if you want to disable the "known applications" list. As for auto-completion, we might add a gconf key too. I'm not too fond of adding lots of gconf keys, but it might be necessary if we want better performance.
This is crazy. People dislike it because it has a terrible implementation that gets in the way. I solved that over in bug 133243 the better part of a year ago.
Sometimes I just like being able to type out the command without other things poping up. I will, however, test out the new implementation in (the just resolved) bug 133243, but I still wouldn't be suprised if other people would find a gconf key that disables this handy at times (doesn't need a GUI option).
This has been promoted to a "love task" ;-) See http://live.gnome.org/GnomePanel
