GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 164942
remote apps don't talk to at-spi-registryd
Last modified: 2006-06-14 15:56:57 UTC
Run a GNOME app on a remote host and DISPLAY it to your local GNOME desktop, for instance via ssh, setting the DISPLAY environment variable. Even though you can see and interact with the application, provided your Xserver session allows the remote host to connect, the remote app isn't accessible. That's because there's no contact between the at-spi-registryd instance to which it connects on the remote host, and the local at-spi-registryd. Likewise, bonobo-activation is strictly local (though Bonobo/CORBA is not). See also bug 164941.
