GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 164713
Notification area icon does not play nice with a transparent panel
Last modified: 2005-10-03 08:12:17 UTC
Notification icons should support having a transparent background. See the work that went into gnome-applets 2.9.2. Visual aid: http://calebgroom.com/gnome/bugs/trans_rb.png I'm running 0.8.8 and not HEAD. gismo from #rhythmbox compiled rhythmbox-0.9-patch-159 from arch and had the same result.
Created attachment 45295 [details] Screenshot of transparent panel I don't think this is specific to Rhythmbox. I think it applies to the notification area in general. See the attached screenshot (with Gaim and Liferea icons in the notification area).
Possibly a dupe of #100600 or maybe #150726
