GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 161687
layer effects needed
Last modified: 2004-12-19 12:59:16 UTC
I have seen this feature request on the mailing list(s) but I try to search for it here and didn't find it (if in fact it's here please let me know the string you searched for). This is a simple request to have the layer effects which allow us to perform interesting things like drop shadow (inner and outer), Glow (in & out as well), bevel and emboss, stroke, etc. Now Iccii (iccii@hotmail.com) has done some of these using script-fu but they're minimal and outdated now. So if someone could continue with his work (if he permits, ofcourse) or thing of another way of doing this, I think it would be greatly appreciated by designers because it makes our jobs so much faster and simpler. Thanks, -Gezim P.S.: I'll try and attach the .scm file which works with gimp 2.* because the original ( http://wingimp.hp.infoseek.co.jp/files/script/layer-effects_en.html )only works with gimp 1.* (this patch for the script-fu was done by someone else other than me.)

Created attachment 34998 [details] layer-styles script-fu I'm not sure how this is related or what these styles do but here it is.
Doing Layer effects using Script-Fu can't possibly work. It's a lame workaround at best and Bugzilla isn't the right place to store such scripts. Layer effects or "adjustment layers", as they are usually refered to, are handled in bug #79025. Can we close this report as a duplicate of this bug?
Of course we can close it ... just didn't know how to search I guess. Thanks Sven. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 79025 ***
