Comment 1 Christophe Fergeau 2004-11-14 12:10:55 UTC
This look slike a bug in gstreamer alsa plugin. This might be fixed in the
gst-plugins that should be out soon.
In the mean time, if you run gstreamer-properties and select OSS instead of Alsa
for output, the crash should disappear.
Comment 2 Matthew Spencer 2004-11-15 21:14:05 UTC
Ok, I tried this (for your information, the test sound worked for both Alsa and
OSS). Now when I try to playback i just get two short high pitched 'pips' and
the application hangs (no more redraws of the Rhythmbox screen).

Is there a way I can test gstreamer via the command line to test the playing of
the stream is working in isolation to the application interface?

Matches the stack trace in bug 156837, which has been marked as a duplicate of
153227, so I'm marking as a duplicate...

Matthew, see Rhythmbox README for instructions about how to play files "like
rhythmbox) from the command line...
