GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 142656
Get rid of drag handles for drawers?
Last modified: 2005-01-09 21:24:21 UTC
Drawer properties includes a "Show hide buttons" checkbox, which if set puts a nice little (arrowed) button at the end of the opened drawer. However, when unset there's instead a drag handle at the beginning and the end of the opened drawer. The purpose of the drag handles remains a complete mystery, I think they shouldn't be there.
The handle serves a purpose in non-expanded panels with "Show hide buttons" unchecked. We could drag the panel, get the context menu etc with the handle. However with a drawer it may not be required.
Could we have an option to hide the drag handles, on my small screen and low res monitor (1024x768 on a 14" monitor) I could do with getting the pixels back... As I *never* move my toolbars I do not see why the drag handles cannot be moved. Plus the drag handles look ugly.

I was talking about drawers. That's not the same thing as floating panel, is it?
Sorry, I had not seen it was about drawers.
Sorry for the spam. Confirming some bugs. Filter on "VINCENT CONFIRMS" to ignore.
Fixed in HEAD.
