Description Raphaël Quinet 2004-03-05 19:06:16 UTC
It would be nice if the GIMP could support "stroke layers": layers containing
a path and some stroke options, which could be edited at any time. Editing
one or both would cause the stroke to be re-drawn.

This has been discussed a couple of times and was mentioned again by Sven in
bug #135746. As I could not find any bug report related to this enhancement,
I am entering this now. Note that the techniques used for creating "stroke
layers" may be related to what we would need to add in order to support
"active layers" (layers associated with some PDB functions applied to other
layers) as described bug #79025 and its duplicate bug #98262 mentioning
adjustment layers, layer styles, layer effects, etc.

Although bug #68915 does not describe exactly the same feature, it is likely
that only one solution (some kind of vector layers) would be implemented to
solve both problems. So I am marking this one as a duplicate in order to
reduce the number of open bugs.
