Which GStreamer version are you using ? Can you reproduce it easily ? Can you
try a newer version of both GStreamer and Rhythmbox ?
Comment 2 brandon 2004-04-01 23:06:17 UTC
After further testing, I found that certain mp3s crashed it. Some of the mp3s that crashed it do not
work in many other programs as well. But many of the mp3s were encoded with Apple iTunes and
work fine in other mp3 players. My GStreamer version is at 0.6.4. I'll see about getting the latest
release or CVS.
Comment 3 Christophe Fergeau 2004-04-02 07:28:43 UTC
Can you try one of the mp3 crashing rhythmbox with the following commandline ?

 gst-launch-0.6 gnomevfssrc location=/path/to/my/musicfile.mp3 ! spider ! volume
! $(gconftool-2 -g /system/gstreamer/default/audiosink)

If it crashes too, that's an issue with gstreamer, which might be fixed in
gstreamer 0.8 (which isn't compatible with 0.6 though, so it may not be that
easy to upgrade)
