Description of Problem:

I was editing a perl script in emacs. Suddenly an error dialogue box
file popped up
saying that there was a crash in the gnome-panel.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1.  Hard to say, except as described above.

Actual Results:

No actual damage to session or X apart from popup error window.

Expected Results:

I wasnt expecting this to happen.

How often does this happen?

Something similar has happened before - see previous bug report reported
by me.

Additional Information:

Redhat 8 fully patched except for last kernel patch. 
NVIDIA X drivers installed but not correctly according to Realsoft.
