Actually, this is more a reminder than a bug.

It would be nice if all plug-ins could use a simple and efficient preview
widget, without having to deals with many particular cases.

This is more or less a duplicate of bug #52374, which is already on
milestone 2.2. 

Sorry - I should have spotted that when you asked me whether you
should open a bug report for this :-}
