Description Tamas SZERB 2004-01-21 14:47:34 UTC
I have a following in the
/usr/share/application-registry/java-web-start-1.4.applications file:
<cut here>
java-web-start-1.4
        command=/usr/lib/j2se/1.4/javaws/javaws
        name=Java Web Start
        can_open_multiple_files=false
        expects_uris=true
        requires_terminal=false
        supported_uri_schemes=file,http,ftp
        mime_types=application/x-java-jnlp-file

</cut here>
I have no user mime type assigned ni the gnome-control-centerl to that, and
when I want to lauch a .jnlp file eg. http://www.carlsbadcubes.com/theodore/
(lauch theodore freeware 2.2) then galeon asks me:
What do you want to do this file?
application/x-java-jnlp-file

I can choose from the Helper Application the right one, but w/o choosing
from it and click the open button, I got this error message:
No available applications to open the specified file.
I'd like to open it always with the only one, preconfigured helper (above),
and AFAIK there was a button in the previos versions to always use that or
similar, it should be great here again.

Or any better Idea, how to use a system-wide Java Web Start, are welcomed.

Cheers,

toma

If you select the default application in the gnome control centre
"file types and programs" capplet, then it should be the default.
