GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 126944
Layer boundry does not erase upon change
Last modified: 2004-01-20 09:16:00 UTC
Here's a problem I have with the current pre-1.3.22 Windows build (Jernej's most recent build). I think it was pulled from CVS around 2003.10.09th To replicate this bug: #1 Create a new image. #2 Create a new layer w/a transparent background. #3 Now select the Move tool and move the new layer around a bit (Note: you must have the image much smaller than the image window so you can see the non-image area) #4 Here's what happens when I do it: http://epierce.freeshell.org/bugzilla/layer.png See how the layer boundry line doesn't properly erase itself as it moves? It just leaves a big trail. However, I don't get the same result under the Linux build 1.3.21 (i.e., the layer boundry erases and redraws itself correctly).
This report is useless since it deals with a part of the code that has been completely redone since then. I will close it as fixed since it is not reproducable. Please update to the latest CVS version or wait for 1.3.23. Then, if the problem is still there on Windows, please reopen this bug report.
Created attachment 23546 [details] This shows the layer borders not redrawing properly in 2.0pre2 under Windows XP
I see this is still a problem in the Windows build 2.0pre2 on all images that I work on. Everything is fine under Linux 2.0pre2(fancy that). In addition to my initial comments above, you'll notice in the new screenshot, layer boundries also do not redraw when moving up and down individual layers. In the screenshot, the layer boundries for all 3 layers are being displayed even though only the bottom layer is currently selected. I usually do a quick zoom in & out to refresh the image while I'm working on something, but this obviously not a real fix. Let me know if I can provide any more info. Thanks... Eric Pierce
I can confirm that this hasn't been fixed yet, marking as a duplicate of bug #129095. Dave.
