Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Distribution: Red Hat Linux release 9 (Shrike) Package: Gnumeric Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.3.7 1.1.x Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org Synopsis: I can't copy many rows at the same time Bugzilla-Product: Gnumeric Bugzilla-Component: General Bugzilla-Version: 1.1.x Description: Description of Problem: I can't copy two or more rows at the same time Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. select "n" rows 2. choose copy 3. an error dialog tells me this is not possible Actual Results: not possible to copy more then one row Expected Results: copy as much rows as I like, not only copy but also paste, cut etc... How often does this happen? every time Additional Information: Even if this seems to be an enhancment Iconcider it a bug because when handling big sheets it is substantial that one can copy more then one row, if you have 100 rows and you want to copy 50, will you copy 50 times one row?!!! ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2003-09-21 13:30 ------- Reassigning to the default owner of the component, jody@gnome.org.
Please be more specific on exactly how you are trying to select and copy the rows. That works smoothly for me.
I click on row "A" for eg. and strg left click on the row "B". And then right click and choose copy. There I get the error message.
when I make the same action with only one completely selected row it works, but with more it doesn't. And I had the same problem with 1.1.20 so it's not only a 1.2 bug I suppose.
Ahh, I understand. By ctrl selecting the 2nd row it seems to gnumeric like a discontinuous selection. Use shift-select, or click and drag to select a number of contiguous rows at once.
Yes this works! but if the two rows are separated by one or more rows which I don't want to copy? This doesn't seem to work...
Yes, that is why the bug is still open as an enhancement request.
