Description Reinout van Schouwen 2003-07-25 13:07:31 UTC
The Bookmarks editor misses the ability to add new bookmarks. This is kind
of logical since it should be able to function without any Ephy windows
open, so 'Bookmark current page' is out of the question. Creating a blank
new bookmark seems a bit backwards because the user has to know the URL
etc. so might as well have visited the page itself and added a new bookmark
from there.

The functionality I miss is to use the currently selected bookmark as a
template for a new one. (If you want to see how this works: the OO.o style
palette has a button to duplicate a selected style and open a properties
window for the new style instantly.) The UI for this feature would include
a item in the File menu, the context menu and possibly a toolbar button, if
a toolbar would be added to the bme.

This can come in handy in cases where the user wants to create several
similar bookmarks for the same site. Smart bookmarks are a good example of
such a case, for instance when creating smb's for a multiple language
dictionary.
