GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 117249
Select multiple tasks in tasklist with Ctrl+LeftClick
Last modified: 2018-01-24 13:22:43 UTC
It would be nice to be able to Ctrl+Click to select multiple arbitrary tasks in the tasklist. One could then right click on one of the selected tasks to get the context menu. That context menu would apply to all selected tasks. If a task group was selected, all windows in that group would be affected. For an example of how this might work, see Windows 98 thru XP (Possibly Windows 95 too). Imapct on UI complexity would be minimal (to the user). Evidence for this is that I didn't know you could do this on Windows and I've been using it since Win95 beta ;)
It does sound useful, I would take a patch for this.
Moving to the right component. Sorry for the spam.

Created attachment 140241 [details] [review] Adds multiselect capability to the tasklist This patch implements the multiselect feature described in the bug report. I've done a lot of testing and can no longer make it crash but it would be good if some good tester could give it a try as well. Please let me know if there's something with the code/behavior you'd like to change and I'll fix it. Comments?
I just tested this bug, in combination with #62721 and it worked very well. Anyone for a review?
