GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 109907
Gnome-Panel crashes frequently when opening
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When clicking on the button to open the gnome-panel, the opening crashes the panel and produces the following error: ---- Begin error --------------- Application "gnome-panel" (process 1036) has crashed due to a fatal error. (Segmentation Fault) ---- End error ---------------- This happens quite often throughout operation. It seems to be a definate occourance upon first booting. Through continued use during the day, it will happen several times. The panel usually recovers itself, but has required a reboot several times as it could not be brought back up. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Simply click on the gnome-panel to open it for program selection. The crash happens when it is trying to render itself open. 2. To reproduce, go about normal operations. It usually crashes several times a day. How often does this happen? Frequently several times a day. ebugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-panel' (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)...[New Thread 8192 (LWP 1036)] 0x4097f789 in wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
