GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 105803
Use previous choice as default for imbalance dialog
Last modified: 2018-06-29 20:28:10 UTC
When attempting to enter a transaction that is not balanced, a "Rebalance" error dialog is raised with several options. I suspect most people have a usual strategy for dealing with these, and don't read all the options all the time (for my own part, I always choose "balance manually" and go back and look at what I messed up. It would be nice to be able to do this without having to switch from the keyboard to the mouse, by pressing "return" to the default). So could the default setting for this dialog be a user option? Alternatively, it could just default to the option used last time (or this could be one of the user-configurable behaviors).
This dialog can be navigated with the tab key and the space bar used to make your choice, so it is possible to do without taking your hands off the keyboard. Still, I think the idea of having the dialog default to whatever choice was made the previous time is a good one.

Is it still possible with current SVN to see this dialog? It seems like transactions are automatically balanced with splits to Imbalance-Cur.
This is related to bug#164317 bug#162575. But I'm asking myself the same question as comment#3 - does this dialog still appear? I always see that if you leave the transaction, then the imbalance is added as a split to Imbalance-CUR, but IMHO that sucks royally, because the last thing I want in my books is this automated Imbalance-CUR account. I would strongly prefer to have that dialog back again, and then add either this feature request or one from bug#164317.
