Description jean-baptiste 2016-07-06 08:56:02 UTC
Hi there,

On Fedora G11N, [Parag] Nemade told langpacks installation will be included in Gnome-Software and few was missing to make it work (the necessary in rpm file has be done according to Parag).

I create this ticket so we can track this and maybe answer your questions.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

One great bonus would be to add mechanism to suggest installation.
It may looks like : "Oh, your locale is fr_FR ? Would you like to install the langpack-fr so you get all needed packages ?"

Typical use case : you install fedora in some locale but one of your user would like to use another language, it suggest the installation of the appropriate langpack.
Or if you want to make a demonstration to people who don't have the same language as you do.
Or if you just forgot the manual installation of the appropriate langpack because you didn't know it existed ;)

Thanks for your help.

It may also solve this enhancement request : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=764836

I'm pretty sure that Software shouldn't be responsible for doing this - it should probably be a combination of gnome-initial-setup (bug 757121) and gnome-control-center (bug 764650).
