GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 733466
Documentation needs to be clearer about copying discontinuous areas/ranges
Last modified: 2014-07-27 20:12:41 UTC
I tried to copy/cut & paste discontinuous areas. After using Ctrl and clicking several different cells I right-clicked "Copy" and got the following warning: "Copy does not support multiple ranges". I tried "Cut" and got the same result. According to the manual one is supposed to do this. Can you help? Thanks! Barr

You wrote "According to the manual one is supposed to do this.", where in the manual did you see this?
(In reply to comment #3) > You wrote "According to the manual one is supposed to do this.", where in the > manual did you see this? I saw it in the Gnumeric Manual v. 1.10, 5.6.2.2. Discontinuous Selections, and, Simple Copy and Move.
I guess Simple Copy and Move isn't clear about the fact that this only works for simple selections. We need to clarify that better.
I have added an appropriate note to the documentation. Please note that this addition will only appear in the online GNumeric manual after the next update of that manual. This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
