Description Al Sutton 2012-08-30 06:24:03 UTC
OS X 10.8 requires, by default, applications to be signed in order to run. The Gimp app bundle in the 2.8.2-1 installer is not signed and thus users can not run it without lowering their security settings (which most users are unlikely to do).
Comment 1 Simone Karin Lehmann 2012-11-12 20:31:12 UTC
The packages from http://gimp.lisanet.de (GIMP on OS X) are already signed with an Apple Developer ID.
Comment 2 Michael Natterer 2012-11-20 10:35:58 UTC
Cool :) I suppose you can just get one for free from apple?

Right-Click - Open seems to be the consensus for now.
Not marking as closed simply because this is Apple's issue, not ours.
Comment 5 Michael Natterer 2013-04-23 21:18:30 UTC
Signing requires an Apple Developer ID, and that ID costs money, which means
we would have to pay money in order to distribute free software to a
platform. No thanks, this is ridiculous.
