Description Yves-Alexis Perez 2009-08-12 12:25:27 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Hey,

I configured a signature in evolution preferences, to have it show only: Yves-Alexis Perez

When composing a mail, the signature is preceded by -- and a blank line. Before 2.27 serie, there was only the -- part, not the blank line, which is not really aesthetic.

Would it be possible to get rid of it (I don't really see the point of having a blank line there).

Cheers,

Does this happen every time?

I see this too. Ever since 2.27 series started, Evo inserts a blank line before the signature separator in every message with a signature. There's no way to remove it. Does not happen with Evo 2.26 (Fedora 11), has been happening in Rawhide ever since it unfroze after F11 and GNOME 2.27 packages went in.

This bug is still present in 2.27.92.
Comment 3 Yves-Alexis Perez 2009-09-25 22:48:42 UTC
And in 2.28.0

Looks like it is caused by commit c8938bd3 to fix bug#553535. I don’t understand the rationale, though.
Comment 5 Yves-Alexis Perez 2009-10-18 16:20:23 UTC
Could that commit be fixed? It still happens in 2.28.1.
Comment 6 Yves-Alexis Perez 2009-11-08 12:01:46 UTC
And for the record, it still happens on 2.29.1 too.
Comment 7 Yves-Alexis Perez 2009-11-16 21:06:03 UTC
This seems fixed as of 2.29.2.
Comment 8 Yves-Alexis Perez 2009-11-28 11:14:01 UTC
Thanks for taking care of that. Just too bad I wasn't aware because everything was happening on a later bug.

Cheers,
