Description Sebastien Bacher 2005-09-11 10:16:58 UTC
This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15104

"The INBOX for my IMAP account does not appear in the list of folder in the
left-hand pane if I select the 'Override server supplied name space' option. The
folders in the name space do appear as do the Trash and Sent folders, but not
the INBOX.

I cannot subscribe to the INBOX either, as it does not appear in the list of
folders to subscribe to.

Running on fresh install of Breezy with all the latest updates as of 10th
September, 2005

> Thanks for your bug. Maybe an issue similar to
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313318. Could you run "CAMEL_DEBUG=all
evolution" and attach the part about LIST and LSUB to bugzilla? If there is
non-public part that you don't want to send to bugzilla replace them or put a
comment about that. Do you have an INBOX.INBOX to subscribe as described by the
comment on the GNOME page pointed?

CAMEL_DEBUG=ALL output

Created by the following commands in a terminal window:

export CAMEL_DEBUG=all
evolution &> evolution_debug.txt

No, no such folder that I can see. All I see is the directory (and it's
sub-folders) I've used to override the name space, Junk and Trash."
Comment 1 parthasarathi susarla 2005-09-12 06:15:35 UTC
You would have to (re-)subscribe all the folders and sub-folders. This should
fix the issue. (although its a pretty painful process though!)
Comment 2 Elijah Newren 2005-11-30 19:02:41 UTC
I believe this is a duplicate of bug 315944 (unless the reporter can get their
INBOX by unselecting "override server supplied name space" as there's no way for
me to get it at all). I tried running with CAMEL_DEBUG=ALL and get similar
output to the attachment mentioned here. If this is a dupe, though, then
comment #2 isn't actually applicable (because there's no possible way to
subscribe to the inbox that I can find anywhere in the UI).
Comment 3 Bruce H. McIntosh 2005-12-06 19:38:00 UTC
Additional data point: I see the same behavior - either I get my mail/
directory or I get my INBOX, but never both, which worked just fine under Evo
2.2. System: new install of Slack 10.2 with Dropline Gnome 2.12.1.
Comment 4 Elijah Newren 2006-01-23 22:46:12 UTC
bug 317518 comment 9 provided a really kludgy workaround but hey, I can use Evolution again after several months of being forced to use the utterly crappy pine! SWEET!!! (Posting this tidbit in all these bugs just in case it helps anyone else)
Comment 5 srn 2006-03-01 21:52:36 UTC
This is still hapenning in 2.5.90.

confirming as per duplicate.
Comment 8 Brian Lindauer 2006-03-25 15:55:45 UTC
I see this as well in 2.6.0 after upgrading from Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 5. When I attempt the workaround of unchecking the "Override server-supplied namespace" and checking "Show only subscribed folders" and restarting, I get an error message on startup:

IMAP command failed: SUBSCRIBE failed: Already subscribed to folder INBOX
IMAP command failed: SELECT failed: Can't open mail: not a selectable mailbox

If I go to Folder->Subscriptions, my inbox still doesn't show up.

Comment 9 Jeffrey Stedfast 2006-05-01 21:18:01 UTC
this was a bug in the imap code that got the full folder tree. if a namespace was set, it didn't perform a LIST/LSUB query for INBOX. Fixed in CVS

Wahoo! I have access to my Inbox again, without the kludgy workaround! Thanks, Jeff. :)
