Sending CC: to anna. After all this is UI.
This is a VERY frequently requested item. Any estimate on when it'll get done?
No estimate at this time, time constraints are keeping it out of 1.2.

Sales will start asking for this with increasing urgency in the 1.2 timeframe. Please do consider moving the milestone to 1.2 if possible.

Should I set this to 1.4?

qouting from the dup bug 248192: "In the "reminder" tab of appointment editor, the drop-down list contains Display a message Play a sound Run a program Send an Email while the last one is greyed out." so i guess this would be the point to implement this in the UI.
quoting jpr from a mailing list posting: "Its greyed out because its not implemented on the client side. Only if the server you are using (Sun's server) implements it. Otherwise you'd have real problems get email alarms if your machine was shut off or something."
still valid in 2.7, updating version number.
Andre and I discussed this a bit on IRC. I think if the capability is not supported then the option should not appear in the combo box at all. Showing it greyed out gives the impression that I can do something to enable it.
Bumping version to a stable release.

Gnome Evolution is now on Version : 2.32.3. Its Aug 10, 2017 now. Is it possible that somebody can add SMTP as a reminder function for the calendar instead of just POP UPs? The option for SMTP reminder is still greyed out. Should another bug be opened or does this suffice. We are a small group using Linux and CalDAV protocol for shared calendars, using Evolution as a client. Our Linux servers/workstations are connected to the internet 24/7 so its not a problem to worry about the machine being shut off. Please advise. Thank you.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
