Description icanoop 2002-11-19 03:42:17 UTC
Email is my main channel of communication, and I
check a lot. I like to send myself reminder emails
to remind me of important events. It would be nice
if I could easily set up email reminders for the
evolution alarm to send. Should work for recurring
emails or 1 time emails. I think this feature
would be appreciated by users.

I can do it by setting up appointments and
choosing "run program" as the notification, and
then having it invoke the "mail" program to send
me the email.

But this is not really convenient. I think most of
the software already exists in evolution to do
this, just a nice wizard or setup screen to help
me set up the reminder emails would be really
convenient. The components that let me choose when
the recurring appointments happen are excellent,
they would also be perfect for this.

I think the best way to do this would be to have a
user just compose a new email like always, then
instead of hitting send, they can choose schedule
for later, and then the screen to choose when the
email should be sent pops up. Then the email is
automatically sent on the dates chosen.

Evolution would have to be able to send emails
even when the gui is not running for this to be
useful, and I don't know if it can do that, but it
should be able to.

Feel free to use the idea if you want, I'm just
tryiing to help.
