GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 203420
Menu disregards emacs settings for HTML viewer
Last modified: 2009-02-12 05:27:33 UTC
For example, regardless of the control panel settings for the HTML viewer, the menu says that Paste is Ctrl-V. However, if the HTML Viewer is configured for emacs-like bindings, Ctrl-V acts as page-down.
upgrading this as it's giving the user incorrect information. It's caused at least one bug report that "ctrl-v doesn't work" and I suspect it will cause others. (also, it's not just paste, redo is reported as ctrl-r, which is search-backwards in [x]emacs bindings - I'm sure there are others.

wouldn't this be a gtkhtml issue as the mailer doesn't have access to the bonobo ui xml nodes?
emacs bindings are basically unsupported and are provided as they are

so enhancing summary
Accelerator clash for Ctrl-P as well. See bug 328862 comment 4.
Emacs bindings are no longer provided, so closing as OBSOLETE. Good news it accelerator keys are now editable at runtime like most other GNOME apps. The rest of Evolution will follow suit soon...
