Description buchheim 2002-01-05 01:09:28 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you
are doing.

Description of Problem:

When composing email, if the text field containing the message body is
active (ie. is the target for keyboard input) then menu item key bindings
are ignored. Instead, emacs bindings are active. This behavior is
confusing because it does not match what the menus claim will happen when
these keys are pressed.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a new mail message.
2. Click in or tab to the message body.
3. Press control-v.

Actual Results:

The cursor moves as if you had pressed page down.

Expected Results:

The keyboard equivalent listed in the Edit menu leads one to believe that
this should paste a copy of the clipboard into the text field.

How often does this happen?

Always.

Additional Information:

The single line text fields (To, Subject, etc.) work as expected. The
problem occurs only when the text field for the message body is active.
