GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 140290
GIMP tells me 1,000,000 times that it can't load font "MS Sans Serif 8" and will make do with "sans 8"
Last modified: 2005-01-27 08:56:57 UTC
All I have to do is open The GIMP for Windows, and the Console pops up with ** (gimp-2.0.exe:4294512909): WARNING **: Couldn't load font "MS Sans Serif 8" falling back to "Sans 8" And ever time I use a tool, open a menu, open a window, ANYTHING that uses the GUI, the same error prints out about 10 times. Is there any way to fix this? I am convinced that this is why The GIMP is slow on my computer!
According to http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/faq.html this is a known problem with the GTKWimp theme. Instructions on how to fix the problem is on that page. Closing as NOTGNOME.

Hmmm... It would have been better to mark both this one and bug #165334 as duplicates of bug #112401. I don't know why I only added a reference in comment #3 without marking this as a duplicate. Probably because there were already too many dupes...
