everytime I start GIMP it brings up a dos screen stating that it can't load the
font styles I have on my computer. 
Have copied font styles to C:\documents and settings\username\gimp2.0\fonts with
no luck in resolving the issue.
This just started about a month ago. it didn't used to do it.
The error that keeps running is "warnign couldn't load font sans-serif 8
reverting back to Arial 8" or something along that nature.

It is not actually a problem with loading fonts -- see bug #140290 for a pointer
to the solution.
