GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 140306
Error signal that blocks the program
Last modified: 2004-09-13 10:20:39 UTC
After I double-clicked on the program's icon, a black window appears with multiple signalations of this error : (gimp-2.0.exe:3880):WARNING**: Couldn't load font "MS Shell Dlg8" falling back to "Sans 8". The program cannot run.
I have already reinstalled the GIMP but the problem persists! Without an help I had to abandon this program.
This problem is the same of Bug 140290! But my bug blocks the program!
Bug 140290 is reported against the win32 version of GIMP, so the tips in http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/faq.html would apply there. You set the OS filed of this bug report to OpenVMS - does this mean that you are really using this platform (somehow I doubt this)?
Setting to NEEDINFO until the reporter specifies the OS.
The OS is Windows XP professional
So do the workarounds described in http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/faq.html help? If so, this is a duplicate BTW, you seem to have a strange font set for something in your Window GUI - usually it is Tahoma. Is there something special to your system?
Closing as duplicate of bug #140290.
