Why not Epiphany, which is part of GNOME?

Actually it should automatically default to whatever you configured you favourite applications to in control-center!

Is that really our problem? Our job is making the GNOME desktop. If distributions want to diverge from that, we should let them do that themselves.

I have to agree, we should advertise our own browser (ie Epiphany) by default (and as a distro guy, it is really not an issue to replace Epiphany with whatever default distribution is choosing).

http://patch-tracker.debian.org/patch/series/view/gnome-shell/2.91.90-1/01_favorite_apps.patch is the Debian patch changing it to use Epiphany…
