GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 511592
pre-gio metafiles not read
Last modified: 2008-02-09 17:13:47 UTC
Please describe the problem: With Nautilus 2.21 directories are show as if no metadata were stored for them, ignoring any customization. This is because slashes for metafiles filenames are now escaped as %2f instead of %2F as before. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Created attachment 103556 [details] [review] escape metafilenames with %F, not %f
-> GIO
Note: this leads to a loss of all nautilus costomisations when upgrading to 2.21, like stretched icons and custom thumbnails. see also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/185769
Good catch. Commited.
This fixed icon positioning and customization for me. Thanks. :-)

Icons are back some of them very huge ... Also I lost forever the button for icons selection on the Properties windows, when I copy / paste a folder or a file - they try to overwrite originals - SO THEY ARE NOT RENAMES AS IN THE PAST, some mime types are lost for Nautilus also some associations (a link to HTDOCS are now open with Text Editor ( Scite on my Ubuntu )), also stretching icons action work only for folders with current theme icons NOT with older customized icons (from other paths). So only a few things go back to the old states - not all.
