GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 139411
Changing size of items in window list
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 1 (Yarrow) Package: gnome-panel Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.6. unspecified Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org Synopsis: Changing size of items in window list Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: Window List Applet Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Description of Problem: at the moment, there's no option to say 'Each item in window list should not excede n pixels'. this means that when i browse the web for example, if i move to a different webpage, with a different title, the width of the Epiphany item in the window list can change, depending on the length of the new page title. this isnt a huge bug, but it looks ugly, and creates usability problems. an option in the applets prefs to say... "Only show application icons in the Window List" or... "Window List items should always be [200px]". or something similar to those. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. open epiphany(and optionally another window...make sure not 100% of available space for the applet isnt taken) 2. go to www.gnome.org 3. then move to somewhere with a longer <title>, for example going to www.hotmail.com has some redirection pages that have long titles Actual Results: the width of the epiphany item in the list changes. imo, it should stay the same(defined) length. Expected Results: ^^ above ^^ How often does this happen? whenever you take the above steps(100%) Additional Information: latest gnome/panel/applets etc etc. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2004-04-07 15:46 ------- Unknown platform unknown. From bug 151637 : don't forget the ability to define a max hieght as well for vertical layouts.
There's a patch to do this in bug 155870. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 155870 ***
