GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 70820
Menu item access keys do not work for non-latin languages (example: ISO8859-7)
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Reference: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2002-January/msg00169.html Suppose you are running gedit and you want to do the "_Copy" operation, this time using the keyboard and the menus. For the POSIX locale, you would press "Alt+E" to open the "_Edit" menu. Then, you would press "C" for "_Copy". However, if the "_Copy" string is translated and you have another keyboard active (the proper keyboard for the mentioned character), the "Copy" menu item is not selected and the operation is not performed. It appears that only latin character sets are recognised.
