GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 580064
When Listening To Last.fm (SVN Version 1.5) New Track Notifications Open In Regular Window
Last modified: 2009-04-24 03:49:11 UTC
Please describe the problem: When you are listening to Last.fm, the new track notification only shows when the focus is on something other than Banshee. Also, when it does it opens in a separate window with OK and Cancel buttons (see attached screen shot) instead of the standardized notification that is used for local media and internet radio streams. These windows begin piling up unless they are closed each time. Steps to reproduce: 1.Play a Last.fm stream 2.Change focus to a window other than Banshee 3.Wait for a new track to start Actual results: The new track notification opens in a regular window with OK and Cancel buttons Expected results: The new track notification should open, appear and behave the same way it does when one is playing local media, or is listening to an internet radio stream Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
Created attachment 133235 [details] Screen shot of the incorrect new track notification window
Tested using latest SVN version 1.5

This is a feature, see bug 361534. In the future, please open one bug per issue, it makes it easier to track them. > Also, when it does it opens in a > separate window with OK and Cancel buttons (see attached screen shot) instead > of the standardized notification that is used for local media and internet > radio streams. These windows begin piling up unless they are closed each time. > I can reproduce this in Ubuntu 9.04, I'm sure the bug wasn't there last week.

A work-around is to uninstall libnotify0.4-cil and to rebuild Banshee. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 572601 ***
