Description Mackenzie Morgan 2008-03-15 02:04:05 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I plugged in my Cowon iAudio 7, and while I was very surprised (and happy) to see that it detected automagically that it was a PMP, I don't think it should show all those import errors for the stuff outside /MUSIC/ on the device. Having a bunch of import errors has the potential to be scary to new users, so having Rhythmbox ignore non-music directories would be preferred.

Also, if a pdf (like of album art) is in a music directory, Rhythmbox reports that the MIME type could not be identified. It seems to me that it should only try to import files that have music file extensions and just ignore anything that's not music. This would cover the above situation automatically.

Steps to reproduce:
- Have a non-music file in a music directory
- OR plug in a PMP with a hierarchy that dictates where music files and system files go

Actual results:
Rhythmbox tries to import non-music files

Expected results:
Non-music files and directories should be ignored

Does this happen every time?
Yes

It's not a dup. The version of Rhythmbox I'm using is the one in Ubuntu's current development version and was pulled from GNOME SVN in February, which is after that bug's patch was committed.
