GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 470381
Remove desktop emblem
Last modified: 2010-10-13 14:42:58 UTC
As noted by Jimmac on bug #469407, there is no need to have "emblem-desktop", which is only used by Nautilus as a private emblem. Instead, Nautilus can use the icon "user-desktop" (which is available in Tango style and every size) from the places context for this, and the old emblem icon can be removed. Attached you'll find a patch. Can someone explain the usage of emblem-trash? If this is still needed, we can surely use user-trash for this, too.

Desktop and Trash just should not exist as emblems I think. Nautilus should just use the user-desktop icon instead of folder for ~/Desktop (when $HOME == Desktop is not set). And if a user wants to trash something, they can just put it in the trash. Adding an emblem for trash just seems silly.
Desktop emblem patch is obsolete, setting status.
I agreed with Rodney. Renaming accordingly and setting status to new.
This should actually be completely OBSOLETE now. Please feel free to reopen if it's not.
