GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 320948
gweather applet should show the default location as the timezone selected
Last modified: 2012-09-06 20:55:51 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Add to panel -> Weather Report 2. Right click on applet -> Details 3. The default location is set to DEFAULT_LOCATION. It should coincide with the default timezone selected for the system.

This was asked for in https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/9015 as well.
Bug https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/36392 suggests to do this: "When the weather applet is added to the panel, the preferences dialog automatically comes up with the Location tab selected."
What version of GNOME do you use and what locale?
May be dupe of my bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348335 ??
gnome 2.15.91 localte: en_AU

Info from duplicate: Timezone is America/Vancouver, weather applet defaults to Ottawa.
Hi, this bug is set to NEEDINFO for quite some time now. The question in comment #4 has been answered. I am thus reopening. If I am not mistaken, this bug is obsolete by now, so feel free to close.
Still happens with 2.24
I think I have the same problem with 2.28. System configuration is set to New York, NY, but weather/clock applet defaults to Boston.
The strings in question do not exist anymore, so closing this as OBSOLETE.
