GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 144859
Icon looks too much like the one for gconf-editor
Last modified: 2006-02-18 10:34:48 UTC
I always get dreadful visual confusion between the devhelp icon and the gconf editor one. As I use these two programs extensively when programming, it'd be nice if they didn't look quite so similar.
Hmm .. Devhelp icon has been around for ages so I'd say that GConf-editor should change the icon rather than Devhelp. This is _IF_ the devhelp icon wouldn't suck so badly :) I asked Dan Taylor (the guy that made the Gossip icons and the BLAM! icon) to do an icon for Devhelp and he has been thinking about it but we are kinda out of ideas for how it should look. If you have any ideas that would be great...
Created attachment 56824 [details] Tango-based devhelp icon I'm the guilty part in this crime of icon-creation. Trying to rectify this here's a shiny new single red book more or less stolen from adress-book-new.svg from the Tango-project with a few modifications. Tango-icons are Creative Commons Share Alike, so it should be ok as long as the author is attributed somewhere.
Should we just create a 48x48 PNG out of this and put both into CVS then?
