GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 108061
gst-launch osssrc ! wavenc ! filesink fails
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Relating to a bug filed at RedHat - "gnome sound recorder creates 0 byte files in Phoebe 3/ RH 8.0.94" [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=85818] I tried the command gst-launch osssrc ! wavenc ! filesink as suggested by iain <iain@prettypeople.org>. The command seems to fail on my installation of RedHat Phoebe 3, and at Iains request I'm submitting the bug here. The result of the command is that after a few second I'm returned to the terminal (output below), a 4Kb file is created- which does not play. Hardware: Creative Labs AWE-64 Software: RedHat Beta 8.0.94 (Phoebe 3) OSS (No Alsa installed). Output: [root@blackswan root]# gst-launch osssrc ! wavenc ! filesink location=temp-test.wav INFO ( 2322: 0) Initializing GStreamer Core Library version 0.6.0 INFO ( 2322: 0) CPU features: (0c040843) MMX registry: loaded user_registry in 0.000337 seconds (/root/.gstreamer/registry.xml) registry: loaded global_registry in 0.298376 seconds (/var/cache/gstreamer-0.6/registry.xml) GStreamer-INFO: 0 live buffer(s) GStreamer-INFO: 0 live bufferpool(s) GStreamer-INFO: 0 live event(s) RUNNING pipeline ERROR: /pipeline0/osssrc0: error reading data (Input/output error) execution ended after 3 iterations (sum 5513902000 ns, average 1837967333 ns, min 510000 ns, max 4999501000 ns) GStreamer-INFO: 0 live buffer(s) GStreamer-INFO: 0 live bufferpool(s) GStreamer-INFO: 0 live event(s)
I think this is the same as bug 106709.
106709 fixed, closing this one.
