in the list view the rows are taller than they need to be which wastes
a lot of screen space.

If this is done to make the thumnails bigger i think that this is a bad
idea. The icon view is designed for thumnailing. The thumbnails in
the list view should be really small.

Does using 50% zoom look ok for you?
Comment 3 Mark Finlay 2003-03-13 18:08:46 UTC
50% looks good - but it would need to be with a bigger font. I had
to increase my application font by 40% to make the list view readable.

Also I had to switch to double click mode because the underlining
makes it very hard to read the list view ( bug 105521 )

I was thinking: Isn't it very hacking to have the list view at 75%
by default - shouldn't the default always be 100 and everything
else be relative to that?
Comment 4 Dave Camp 2003-03-15 16:04:14 UTC
We changed the default to 50%. If 50% is your default zoom, it will
use the right font size.

Yeah, it would be nice to use 100% as the default (but keep the 50% size).

Closing this.
