For XscreenSaver 4.05

Start capplet and set up the preference
  Advanced: Choose Random Image
to some folder.

Exit the capplet.

Remove the folder.

Restart the capplet.

Results in:
(xscreensaver-demo:17640): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from
(NULL) pointer to `GtkWidget'
Segmentation fault

This was fixed a while ago (some time before 4.19, I think)

According to its developer, xscreensaver is not under active development anymore.

It is unlikely that there will be any further active development.

free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility
for active development again.
