Description Kevin Breit 2002-11-16 19:58:12 UTC
Package: rhythmbox
Severity: enhancement
Version: 0.4.0
Synopsis: Views should be customizable
Bugzilla-Product: rhythmbox
Bugzilla-Component: Interface

Description:
Currently, you can have RB display only a certain band or album and list
only the selected songs. I think RB should change the displayed menus
in the song listing when you do a filter based on band or album. This
is becuase if I choose "The Cure" in the band listing, then of course I
know what band is going to be shown in the song listing. So, the artist
column should be removed and replaced with album. Visa versa for the
album filter.

I agree, searching should limit browsers too, this is what iTunes does.

Actually upon re-reading, it is really the behaviour described in bug #322787 that is what I want. I don't think the behaviour this reporter wants is actually useful.

Retitle summary to (hopefully) more accurately reflect original intent of reporter, and avoid other bugs being filed as duplicates of this one.
Comment 7 James "Doc" Livingston 2006-02-15 04:02:47 UTC
This would only make sense when there is a single artist/album selected, and it would be odd to have columns appear and disappear magically. I don't think this is something we would ever implement, so marking WONTFIX.
