Description Gregory Merchan 2002-11-13 04:48:29 UTC
The switcher combo (real name?) is a widget often seen in Windows which
has had a few implementations in GNOME. Galeon uses one for its Back and
Forward buttons. Gnumeric uses them for some things. The Windows
equivalent can be found in like places, iirc.

The action afforded by such a widget is very similar to that of a
conditionally cascading menu. (Bug #82162)

It's also like the Amiga cycle gadget requested in bug #1867, but with a
larger target area for the cycle button and a smaller one for the menu.

I'll add more information if I find the Windows API for it.

The HIG is waiting for this to be standardized before making any
recommendations. (Bug #93033) I'll be marking that as dependent on this.
