Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. telnet to a cisco router 2. type <ctrl><shift><6> then x 3. don't actually need to telnet to the router just hold <ctrl><shift><6> on command line of a gnome-term window and will see that <6> is outlined in a box Actual Results: Expected Results: How often does this happen? ctrl+shift+6 enters Unicode character 6 in the default input method. If you right click and choose Input Methods -> X Input Method then it won't be trapped.
