GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 97782
Network sheet objects cause seg fault.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The following objects on the network sheet cause a repeatable seg. fault when inserted into diagrams: A Computer A monitor Storage A simple printer A WAN Connection A stackable hub or switch A modular switching system A RJ45 Wall-Plug A Wall-Plug for the scEAD Cabling System A simple Modem An antenna for wireless transmission Network Cloud A Firewall router Many thanks, Sam Williams.
(Reassigning to General, as this is a programming error) I notice these are all shapes that use text, while the Ethernet bus, which doesn't, isn't included. Can you do simple Text elements without crashing? I suspect the problem is in font setup.
Hmm, it seems that simple Text elements also crash it. I'm using: XFree86 4.2.1-2, xfs 4.2.1-2 xfs-tt 1.3.0.xf420-8 gdm 2.2.5.5-2 blackbox 0.65.0-1 I don't seem to be having a problem with fonts in other applications, but I know font managemnet in debian unstable has been changed recently. What fonts does dia depend on? Cheers, Sam.
this bug does not seem to occur on windows but as Lars already seems to think it is Font related this information is not really of any use. i went to the trouble of checking so i may as well let you know.
