Description Christian Marillat 2002-10-18 12:57:29 UTC
Hi,

http://bugs.debian.org/164948

I have a laptop on which I do all my work. I rarely shut the machine
down -- instead I just suspend it when it's not being used. Thus,
when I travel to and from work, I just suspend the machine, disconnect
it, travel, then plug it in and resume. During resume, the network is
automatically reconfigured to match the current environment.

What happens is that if I start the machine at home and log in, the
weather applet starts up and works fine. I then suspend the machine,
go to work, and resume it. At this point the weather applet doesn't
work any more. When I look at "netstat -nt", I see a connection in
SYN_SENT state with one end's IP address set to the IP address my
machine uses at home, and the other end's IP address set to the router
that connects my home network to the internet.

If I then remove the weather applet from the panel and re-add it,
everything works fine again, until I go home.
